Lindau, Germany on our way to Reutte, Austria
Leaving our beloved Alps
We left Berner Oberland region
early in the morning. We are
headed for Austria.

To Reutte, Austria - Day 6 and 7 - June 2 and 3
On our way to Reutte, Austria, we stopped at this
sleepy little town of Lindau, which is actually in
Germany!
In Reutte, we stayed in a lovely
hotel offering large rooms with
views of the Alps. We toured Mad
King Ludwig's Neuschwanstein
Castle. (Left) The castle, in which
he grew up, was smaller, but still
impressive. (Below)
From there, we walked about four miles through the woods. We crossed the border between Germany and
Austria, catching a bite to eat at farmhouse/restaurant.We had a delicious soup and salad lunch.

On our way back to the hotel, we
stopped at a ski resort and all raced
down a luge. Great fun! (Above)
By the time we reached
the inn, we were ready
for some refreshments
and a great meal.
